How Does CoolSculpting Remove Fat?‍

CoolSculpting removes fat by “freezing” fat cells, which effectively makes them collapse thus killing them. After these fat cells die, your body’s other cell systems kick in to remove the dead fat cells. CoolSculpting is FDA-approved to work on only certain areas of the body: chin/jawline areas, thighs, abdomen, flanks, bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks, and upper arms.‍

How Does Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation Remove Fat?‍

Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation (also FDA approved) uses ultrasonic (high-frequency sound waves) to liquefy fat cells. Your body’s lymphatic system then kicks into gear to remove these melted, dead fat cells. The handpiece used also plays a role in shaping your target areas, “chiseling” and breaking down tissue to give you a slimmer appearance. Wood therapy can be added to enhance contouring and elimination.

Below we are going to highlight the key aspects of CoolSculpting vs Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation and designate a clear winner to each:‍

Fewer Treatments to See Results? Winner: Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation‍

According to the CoolSculpting website - it may take up to 1 to 3 months to see results. This is because it takes time for the fat cells to be broken down by their proprietary freezing method and to be expelled from your body.

Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation works within a matter of days. The fat cells are immediately liquefied by the ultrasonic waves and your body’s lymphatic system kicks into gear to get rid of the dead fat cells right away.‍ This is why my most active clients, who stay hydrated and healthy have the fastest visible results!

Which is More Comfortable? Winner: Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation‍

The CoolSculpting website says:

“During the procedure, you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity, and sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental or submandibular area treatment.”‍

Yikes!

Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is pain-free. In fact, clients have said that Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is a relaxing experience. There is no anesthesia needed, no cutting, no sutures, no drugs. That means no scars or downtime.‍

Which Has Less Downtime? Winner: Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation‍

With Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation, you can return to your regular routine immediately after the procedure. There is no need to take days off or for drugs. In fact, you are encouraged to be active and exercise post session!

On the other hand, there can be lasting side-effects with CoolSculpting. Directly from the website, it says:‍

Rare side effects may also occur. CoolSculpting may cause a visible enlargement in the treated area which may develop two to five months after treatment and requires surgical intervention for correction.‍

Which Costs Less? Winner: Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation‍

CoolSculpting can cost upwards of $1500 per treatment in LA - and in most cases you could need 3 – 12 or more treatments depending on your body and your personal goals.

Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is typically 30% to 50% less, and if you need multiple treatments, I offer packages, so you save even more by choosing Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation.

Which is FDA-Approved? Winner: Tie‍

Both CoolSculpting and Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation are FDA Approved. So regardless of which treatment you choose, you know that it’s backed by rigorous testing and is safe for most people. Note: You should always consult a physician prior to choosing any treatments for which you feel may cause problems.

Which is More Popular? Winner: CoolSculpting‍

CoolSculpting is owned by Allergan, a giant in the cosmetic procedures industry. Allergan has pumped millions into digital, TV, and radio campaigns to promote its procedure

Does Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation REALLY work?

The SCIENCE!

I love science so here are just a few PUB MED STUDIES out of many that have been published.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29846343/

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4174158/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26299702/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33909662/

Note: Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is rebranded by many med spas as their own name (Ultra-Cavi, LipoSculpt, etc.). However, the way that the treatment works, despite the differences in the name, is fundamentally the same.‍

So....

Just like you are making an evaluation on which fat removal procedure is the best fit for you, I’ve also done my own comparison of treatments on the market to make sure I offer the most effective treatments to my clients to help them look and feel their best.

Although CoolSculpting is a more recognized name, Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is clearly the better option.

I have helped many people achieve their desired results in only a few treatments with no downtime.
